What is your favorite video game studio and why?

Mine is Double Fine, so many of there games just speak to me. Grim Fandango, Brutal Legend, Psyconauts 1+2. They're just such interesting and well crafted games.

I really don't have many anymore, most seem to have not fared well in recent years.

If I were to pick a studio it would limit my scope of entertainment. I know not all studios are equal but Atlus would be my top choice. Then the next up is Bandai Namco.
