Alright, as promised it's time to kick off the February video game giveaway. There will only be two winning spots which 1st place gets the free video game and 2nd place gets a large amount of shards.

Now to win you must use a item from the store, when you use the item it will give you a random number, the highest number wins the contest. All items number start out at the number 50 but there is a way to increase the number to give you a better chance of winning. to increase the number you can do the following (if it stacks, you can do it as many times as you want):
  • Make 25 posts (stacks) get 12 points added
  • Referrer 3 members who have made ten posts and get 100 points added
  • Hold 75 high scores in the arcade and get 30 points added (scores will be deleted upon accepting)
  • Have your profile background filled out with image, video and some info and get 3 points added
  • Make 3 debate topics, 2 game reviews, and 10 posts in the gamer hangout for 25 points added
  • Post GF's link on five different websites (stacks) for 10 points added
  • Advance a usergroup and get 7 points per advance.
  • Made a reply to this, this and this topic for 125 points added. (new)
More could be added down the line

Contest ends on February 27th and at the end the points will be totaled and the member will be given the item. Once given you must use the item and then screen shot the results and post it in the results topic. Top winner will get any video game that has come out in the month of February. If you win you may need to give some personal info to get the prize.

Just being a member automatically enters you in the contest, but only being at a limit of 50 while others are expanding their limit doesn't give you much chance if any.

So if you have any questions, just post here. And you must post here saying you are entering.

To do the post requirement, you must post your current amount and then confirm you made the amount. Then rinse and repeat.

And how about the usergroups? Do we get points for the advance we have?

No time limits in this contest, if you advanced and or have the scores they are automatically accepted. It's your bonus for being a active member.

there is only one entry, a item that will choose a number between 1-50. You have to work on earning points that will expand that 50. So if you completed 25 posts, your item will then choose a number between 1-62 instead of 1-50. once that number is choose you have to screen shot it and then post it in the results topic that I will make at the end date.

and only games of this month feb 2013.
 
sorry for the slow update, busy day and allergies are kicking my ass pretty hard right now.

I'll try and explain again.

Yes, you only have one chance at a number, but you are working to improve your chances with that number. So this contest is more like quality than quantity. In the end it's all on luck, you could get a number as high as 1000 but still only end up with the number 2 showing up.

You will get the item for free.

The item won't be used till after the contest ends.
 
Hang-on, I understand how this works, basically people shouldn't really buy an item until about the 26th Feb unless of course they aren't going to be around. But when we buy the item, which will be free, is it any item? Or are you creating a specific item for this contest?

a free specific item will be created once the contest ends.
 
Surprised I didn't sign up.

Including this one, I have 102 posts. Is it meant to be 25 from now or just 25 through the time period outlined?

You get the added tickets for every 25 posts you make from 102 posts (in your case) during ghe time period. So if you made 152 posts you would get 24 added.
