Anyone who played Final Fantasy XIII will receive a bonus when they play Final Fantasy XIII-2 next year. In an interview with the official Japanese Xbox site, Final Fantasy producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed that any player with a Final Fantasy XIII save file will get a "special item" when they play Final Fantasy XIII-2. Kitase didn't say exactly what the item would be, but added that it will be helpful to players and won't affect the game's balance.
Kitase also revealed that Final Fantasy XIII-2 will require only one disc on Xbox 360, unlike Final Fantasy XIII, which was released on three. Kitase said the change is a result of more real-time rendering and less pre-rendered movies on the disc. He added that load times will be short, and even shorter if the player installs the game to their system.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is set to be released on January 31, 2012. A Collector's Edition was revealed yesterday.
