FF 7 PC Update?

A Google cache of the site finalfantasyviipc.com shows evidence of a plan for an updated PC release, with achievements, cloud saves (appropriate!) and a "character booster" that lets players increase HP, MP, and money "with the simple click of a button, leaving you to enjoy your adventure." Final Fantasy VII first came to PC on disc in 1998.

Really? FF 7 fans have been begging for a remake and this is what they give us? SE be trolling.

Hopefully the PC upgrade for FF7 would be in HD. I think SE just have to make sure the game is compatible with Windows 7, and re-program the game to make it work in Windows 7 since backwards compatibility is easier on the PC then consoles in most cases since Windows 98 and 7 share a lot of similarities compared to PS3 and PSX which are very different consoles and operating systems.

I wonder if this would increase the numbers of new PC gamers who just would buy a gaming PC to play FF7 on in HD.

I hope it is still available as a collectable box set with the Game Disc for PC since I think most hardcore FF7 fans will want the box art, and Disc to collect, or sell on eBay for hundreds to thousands of dollars in 20 or more years after release.
