Square Enix has announced the first downloadable content for Final Fantasy XIII-2. According to a press release, "the planned content includes Coliseum battles pitting the player against adversaries from previous Final Fantasy titles that, when defeated, can be recruited into the player's party."
The first Coliseum battle, Lightning and Master Sergeant Amodar, will be available for download on February 7th. Square Enix promises that "in addition, there will be episodes which enhance the experience and complement the narrative of Final Fantasy XIII-2 with storyline branches for key characters in the story."
This follows the DLC plan Square Enix revealed last year, which promised several pieces of DLC each month. The Coliseum Battle is joined by the previously announced pre-order incentive DLC, which includes an Omega Coliseum battle and an alternate outfit for Serah. An Assassin's Creed-inspired Ezio outfit for Noel was also announced last year.
