Square Enix has announced a new Welcome Back campaign encouraging players to return to Final Fantasy XIV. According to Square Enix, the campaign is designed to "encourage adventurers who played FFXIV in the past to rejoin and experience the latest sweeping changes made to the lands of Eorzea."
The campaign offers players with inactive accounts a free-to-play window for ten days, running from May 9th at 8:00 p.m. PST until May 20th at 11:59 p.m. PST. The Welcome Back campaign will offer access to the Seventh Umbral Era content, featuring the job system added in Patch 1.21 in addition to upcoming content from Patch 1.22 including a battle against Garuda.
In addition to welcoming back inactive players, Square Enix is also launching a Legacy Campaign to reward current subscribers. When version 2.0 beta testing begins, players who have been subscribed for more than 90 days since subscriptions began on January 6th will be granted a lower subscription rate of $9.99. These players will also receive an exclusive in-game Chocobo mount when 2.0 launches, plus their name in the credits. A full breakdown of the subscription rates are below.
