Final Fantasy VII is now available on PS3! No, it's not the remake we've all been screaming for. Instead, commemorating next week's Japanese release for Advent Children Complete (and the FFXIII demo), Square Enix released Final Fantasy VII International for the Japanese Game Archives service (also known as PSOne Classics) today, priced at 1,500 yen.
FFVII International is basically a Japanese re-release for the international version of Final Fantasy VII. Following the original Japanese FFVII release, Square Enix (just Square at the time) made a number of improvements to the game before its release in Western markets. These improvements were offered to Japanese players through an "International" branded re-release a few months after the original release.
The Game Archives release is just for Japan at the moment. While it's possible for international players to access the Japanese PlayStation Store and make the download, please note that the game, despite the "International" in the title, is in Japanese.
