Game Director Naoki Yoshida, aka Yoshi-P, first addressed the general congestion issues that have been causing long wait times to login. While Yoshi-P notes that they are seeing fewer players login en-masse this weekend than its launch weekend, player counts remain high. While the team has already taken steps to resolve some error message issues, that has actually increased the wait time somewhat, as more players are now able to successfully enter the login queue that can be as high as 5,000 players.

Next, Yoshi-P covered some of the common Final Fantasy 14 login error messages players have been seeing and went over their causes. Error 2022 was primarily due to data centers seeing more than 17,000 players enter the queue; any players entering past that point would see this error message. The queue limit has since been raised, so the error message shouldn't appear as often, if at all, but anyone who encounters it is advised to try again later.

Next, it appears that Errors 4004 and Error 3001 have been fixed, and were tied to timing out in the queue and World outages, respectively. It is noted, though, that Error 3001 may make a reappearance depending upon how many connections are active on any given World. Tonberry in particular was hit hard by this problem, but the changes made by the development team should see it greatly improved.

Finally, as with so many things related to gaming and technology right now, Yoshi-P acknowledged that the global shortage of semiconductors means that Final Fantasy 14 can't simply add new servers and Worlds in order to handle the increase in players. That being said, he assures fans that the development and operations teams are doing everything they can to make things better for their players.
