At a Tokyo press conference, Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada said, with reference to Final Fantasy XIV, "The Final Fantasy brand has been greatly damaged."

Speaking to Sponichi (translated by Andriasang), Wada promised that "We'll continue with our reform work, which basically amounts to fully redoing the game, and hope to revive the FFXIV that should have been released."

if they want to repair the FF name, they need to drop the MMOs from the main FF line. Then they need to return the series back to it's 6-10 roots. Doing that should give it a good turn around.

XIV could have been better. They totally fucked up. They should have made a greatly improved XI.

World of Warcraft isn't really that similar. And XI was getting old, and outdated. They needed to make a new game, but not release i when it was a crap like this.
