Personally, I don't think they should have done it. Because they didn't do just some press release statement of the release date, they did an entire one hour show special, that me and many others sat through to see the release date and details of this game, and they come out months later saying, nope that was just a fib.
Though I do respect that are withholding it make it day one better out of the box, they ruined their image on the delay which I wouldn't be shocked if they delayed it again if they failed to meet the quality expectations that caused this delay.
