Developer Mozilla is planning a version of their popular Firefox browser for mobile phone use. Not only that, but the phone will be able to link up with the user's home information to retain their preferences, favorites, stuff like that. It's a pretty cool idea, especially given that the browsers on cell phones aren't necessarily up to snuff at the moment.
Apparently, the decision to do this now stems from the idea that cell phones are only just getting powerful enough to support browsing that would be worthwhile. And, there's a feeling that these processors are only going to get exponentially more powerful as time marches on.
That could have a lot of potential. I get on the internet on my phone everyday. There are some things I can't do because the browser can't support it. I hope this will allow for better surfing on our phones.
