So I've finally burnt myself out on reviewing Amazon Prime content, as such, I've started turning my interest towards playing Jurassic World Evolution 3.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 came out on Tuesday and I pre-ordered the deluxe edition a few months ago so I can safely give you a first impressions review of it.

For starters, the game does look pretty good. The artsyle and dinosaurs never really looked ugly which was pretty nice. Jurassic World Evolution 2 didn't really look bad either but this is an upgrade.

The modular building system is easily the best feature added. It significantly made the game far easier to play with. I haven't gone very far with it but just that alone has made building and decorating far better than the first two games.

The new dinosaurs are pretty good. Lokicertops is the one I've played with the most but every other species added looks pretty good for the most part.

The aviary and lagoons do lose a few species which became very noticeable quickly because there's only like 5-7 species each available for those two.

The gameplay is basically just Evolution 2 again, which just means that it's functional. Don't go in excepting a deep complex park building game, because for the most part it's more of a pick up and play kind of experience.

My big complaint right now is the deluxe edition dlc. There's not a lot to it for $17 dollars. If I didn't pre-order the game with the deluxe edition I would've felt far more ripped off than I do currently. The scenery pieces are cool and all but they also don't really stand out from the rest.

The dlc species are also kind of lacking. Protoceratops is pretty uninteresting and way too similar to the microceratops for it to really stand out. Guanlong is the highlight of the pack, and I'll use this dinosaur quite a bit but...17 dollars for the bird dinosaur? Thanatosdrakon and concavenator are from Jurassic World Evolution 2 and are honestly pretty cool. I'll definitely use them but the price is way too high for three good dinosaurs and protoceratops.

The badlands set is whatever. I got this as a pre-order bonus but it's honestly nothing that crazy. Sure, these pieces are usable and can add in interesting set dressing but they're really not that important to own.

Overall, I do like this game. Quite a lot actually, this will be played for years to come. A deeper review will come whenever I finally get all the achievements. Right now I'm just mucking about in the sandbox so I can't really give you that deep of a review. But, I like it. The new species are cool and the modular building has made the game significantly more fun to play. Here's hoping the future dlc gives me a ton of extra content to enjoy.
