After remaining relatively quiet, Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen interviewed with Rolling Stone to discuss his success, new projects, and the possibility of bringing his hit game back.

When asked if Flappy Bird will ever make a return, Nguyen said, "I'm considering it." He added he's not currently working on a re-release, but if he ever does, it will come with a clear precaution: "Please take a break."

Nguyen also said that, over a month after taking the game down from digital stores, he's still rejecting offers for the purchase of Flappy Bird.

The rest of the interview is an excellent read touching on Nguyen's education, family life, encounters with the paparazzi, and more.

It drives me nuts, I must be missing something. The GF arcade plus all the other gaming sites on the net contain many flappy bird like games (you click to rise and let go to fall) and yet this game nets a insane amount of attention/money. Why?

Because people are fascinated with the simple concept of it. It reminds me so much of chopper, it's almost like a superior graphics version of it. Complete with an object that goes up and down (chopper/fish) and barricades (walls/pipes) you have to avoid.

I wonder would the new version of Flappy Birds have an easy, medium, and hard mode, or extra lives because the original one is so unforgiving where you die once you crash into a pipe, or the floor.

I think the competition and hardness of the game makes Flappy Birds popular since taping the screen too much, too little, or at the wrong time will make the Bird crash to the floor or the green pipes, so you need to tap the screen at the right time, so the bird is not too low or high in the air.

It earns a lot of money because he got a lot of attention from people who like simple games, and advertisers are willing to pay high prices to get some of the attention from the game when the millions of mobile gamers play it.

It could also have perks that you can fly into such as a thing that if you collect it the pipes become shorter for a few seconds. :P

I haven't played this myself, but my friend told me about this game the other day, he said flapy Bird made so much money and attention but the guy who made it took it down. The reason can be that he is trying to bring a better version to it.

The reason he took it down is because he was earning "too much" from ad revenue, and it was affecting his lifestyle.

Lol, that's weird, If he is making so much, how was that affecting his lifestyle? If it was not earning and he put so much effort in it would be a different thing.

He lives in Vietnam which is a communist country. I think the communist make rich people pay more taxes, so he might end up being poor or even poorer than before because the government would raise his taxes he has to pay, or take away Flappy Birds, so the government earns all of Flappy Bird's Ad money.

I read he is a quiet person, and did not like the attention he was getting from the local news and people.
