Because come on, there'd surely be some people on 3DS or Wii U who might be willing to give it a shot on a system that's not a smartphone, right?
Yea, but the guy who made it took it down Nin. Apparently Nguyen didn't want it to be such an addicting game.
In an exclusive interview with Forbes, Flappy Bird developer Dong Nguyen has revealed the real reason he removed the extremely popular app from the App Store and the Google Play Store. According to Nguyen, the game’s addictiveness is what convinced him to remove it, and the app is not coming back. “Flappy Bird was designed to play in a few minutes when you are relaxed,†the developer said “But it happened to become an addictive product. I think it has become a problem. To solve that problem, it’s best to take down Flappy Bird. It’s gone forever.â€From here.

Would not buy.
I wouldn't either. Especially when it was a F2P. It's like buying TF2 on Steam. Without going premium.
Yeah would not buy. Even if the guy took it down for his reasons, I sure bet all that advertisement revenue from the game is surely making him happy. Smart man to scrap it and let people download it like crazy before it was off on Google Play or the App store.
I definitely agree there is a popular demand from the game but I don't think he would make much money on the eShop , unless he'd consider selling it on all platforms like PlayStation store and Microsoft store and including the eShop.
I liked the game a bit... at least the way your supposed to play it, in short bursts occasionally when it strikes your fancy. But I certainly wouldn't pay for it. It's not really worth money frankly. Fun for a free game, but not much else.
