Fluid or Fixed Forum

What is better in people's opinion? A fluid or fixed forum?

I used to once have a fixed forum which looked fine on the majority of screens that I used, but then I got a widescreen and there was lots of empty space either side. So then I changed to a fluid forum which also looked fine on majority of screens, but then on a widescreen it will stretch all the way across the screen.

What do people like more?

I prefer fluid forum since it can fit more text on one line of text, and it is faster to read topics and replies.

But, I dislike websites which have no margins where the text is touching the edge of the monitor. I think a website should have at least a 60 pixel margin on the left and the right of the screen to make text easier to read.

I agree with the margins. My website was actually 100% fluid and after thinking about it i decided to change it to 75% fluid so at least it doesn't stretch from the left to right completely.
