What are some forums that are no longer around, but you miss having around?

I mean Nintenpedia was still going strong but it was archived and we moved to Discord, but I might forget people because of their username changes on Discord.

Jellyneo Forums, GSCentral, RX Community, Mario Party Forum, and Super Mario Deep/Super Mario World 8 Forum are only several of the forums I remember visiting back in the early 2010s that are no longer around that I have fond memories of.

I've made quite a fair few friends with members and/or staffers from most of the forums mentioned above, some I'm still in contact with on some social media sites.

Referral forum was a Webmaster a forum also a the 2nd forum I got a job as a moderator.

I'm sure a few people here remember Forum Hour which was a webmaster forum owned by pandaa (I think). That was a fun site to be on

There was an anime forum I used to frequent quite a few years ago. A good bit of the community was fun, but the owner’s incompetence and cocky attitude ran people off. The service it was hosted on also ended up shutting down, so since we all bailed on the site, the admin didn’t bother bringing it back up.

The admin was a game developer, and got super cocky because his terrible games got 3 (count them) positive reviews and he was earning a whopping $5 a month on patreon.

He was so cocky, than when people were telling him about his spelling and grammatical errors, he blew us off because we “couldn’t understand the artistic perfection”.

Almost got to wonder where that kind of person is at today.

I just checked, his Patreon is kept up to date (he now makes a whopping $28 a month from 4 backers!!!!), but it seems like he’s disappeared from forums around the time his forum died out, and his Twitter is dead.

I do remember the guy being a massive NEET. He was a year younger than me, and didn’t want to get a job because he was convinced he was going to make millions of this game in 2-3 years. His forum died in 2017.

That is such an epic fail. Reminds me back when people thought they could open better RP forums and keep it going at best 3 months.

If the guy wasn't so cocky, it'll just be yet another failed amateur ambition.

That part about RP forums just sounds like typical Forumpromotion shit, where people were anal about keeping some weird user post count to joining ratio (or whatever), and kept nuking their forums and starting it over and over. Ah yes, very trustworthy, the forum made by the guy who's on his 15th iteration of the same forum that he'll shut down in 3 months.

FP was used in the process but it was mostly RP forum vs RP forum back in the day, someone get snubbed and they make a big huff in the chantango chat boxes how they can do better, it was so fun back then.

I miss Yahoo Answers. It had a lot of useful answers for almost every popular topic like cooking. Yahoo Answers was convenient to use because all you need was a Yahoo Account to post a question topic, and reply to a question.
