From Russia With Love is pretty good. It does have a significantly better second half compared to a less interesting first half, but it'll still be pretty good nonetheless.
The biggest complaint I have is that the first half is indeed pretty slow and boring. Like, the Romani subplot felt pointless and it padded out the runtime. Once Bond leaves Istanbul the film does become increasingly great.
Red Grant is good. He's just SPECTRE Bond but they give him such a good train fight scene that it ends up working out for me. I really can't complain about him, even if he's a bit generic.
The Bond girl, Tatiana Romanova, is important to the plot at least but I still wouldn't really call her a highlight. If anything, she works, I just don't really think she had the most interesting or compelling character.
Overall, here are my rankings.
The Current Ranking:
From Russia With Love
Dr. No
Bond Villains:
Red Grant
Dr. Julius No
Bond Girls:
Tatiana Romanova
Honey Ryder
