It's been officially announced that HBO has renewed the popular tv/book series Game of Thrones for a 4th tv season. There is no mention of how many episodes it will be but the producers have said they like to stick to 10 episodes per season. Currently Season 3 just started on HBO channels.

A spin off? That's interesting, since the show's based on the world created by R.R. Martin I assume the spinoff would take place in the same world? Not sure what they had in mind for that.

Yeah. They are discussing it. It will probably be an adaptation of Dunk and Egg short stories. 

That would be interesting.
 
Cause its crude, no taboo and no limit, almost every episode has something that shocks you to some extent.

The most interesting one being that they didn't hesitate to kill a key character while in other TV shows such a character would have been saved at the last moment or miraculously survived.
 
I just find the plot amazing, and how well the characters act.

And I agree with that they hold back nothing. Saw a small part where a guy's head exploded from being hit with a rock. Gah, how did they do that?
 
I can't wait to see what happens next. I was really hoping Jon Snow would become the Lich King  :laugh:

Oh well, maybe in season 4, since
the army of the dead now marches south.
 
I heard theyre trying to slow down the series since they want to give time for the author to write the last installments of the book. I have a feeling the series will be going on forever.

I read an interview with George about this. He said he was trying to work faster but it's cool for now. He's writing the 6th book and they are going to film the 4th season so.. 
 
I hope he doesn't feel too rushed to complete the books. Any fan will tell you that one of the big attractions to the books is the wealth of extra information and lore there is aside from the main story line. Hopefully he won't try to churn the last bit out too quickly and make them less rich than the other books he has released.
Although having said that I think he is a good enough author to be impervious to that kind of thing :D
