Game purchases you regret?

Are there any? And if so, what are they?

For me, I regret buying:

Mario and Yoshi - It's not a very good puzzle game, and to be honest, something like Wario Land 2 would have likely made a much better purchase back when I had an old school Game Boy.

Some Tomb Raider game for Game Boy Color - The console ones seem good, but the portable ones? Nah, no point bothering with 'em.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games - Way, way too much motion control gimmickry for my tastes, and it was heavy on tutorials as well.

But yeah, what games do you regret buying?

Tomodachi Life. Not saying it is a horrid game but it definitely is noit worth the Retail prince. I caved in and bought it digitally less than 24 hours before Nintendo decided to reduce it 40% in a sale. That experience didn't help my impressions. XD

I love Left 4 Dead so I pre-ordered the sequel when it was announced. Never been so disappointed in my life. The original had a much darker atmosphere whereas the sequel took place almost entirely during the day. The addition of even more infected diluted the original trio's effectiveness and they were nerfed. The characters weren't too bad thankfully, but I still prefer the old ones. Didn't care much for the new gimmick of running during events, I liked the old hunker down and wait it out style.

I don't remember a lot of games that I regret buying, but a recent one I kind of regret is Undertale. I'm trying to play through it and I'm trying to like it, but I don't. Then when I got my new computer hooked up, I had to restart and that made me kind of annoyed. I'm still going to beat it, but as of now, I kind of wish I just watched a Let's Play of it.

To be honest, I haven't regretted any game that I've purchased. I've been lucky, I guess. My a lot of the games I have, revolve around either Mario Bros. or the Harry Potter series. I love both so it is no surprise that I enjoyed the games that I have for both series.

destiny, because i havent gotten passed level 7 and i bought the game last year, dont even play it as much as i thought i would, when i thought i was adapting to shooting games more because of PVZ Garden warfare it just didint workout that way.

007 legends, what should have been an epic game was an epic failure. No online for over a week and the content was unfinished.

Didn't that game basically kill Eurocom?

So I guess you're not a big fan of FPS games then?

I really feel like a lot of people didn't do proper research on what this game was, or really think about whether they'd enjoy it or not.. although it was such an unusual concept, it's not really surprising it sounded neat to a lot of people then missed the mark. I've really enjoyed it and gotten my moneys worth on the title for sure! The only thing about my purchase for this one I regretted was getting it as a physical cartridge rather then a digital download. I got it cheaper, but the style of game really suits digital better. :/

I feel the same way about L4D2, something about it just didn't quite hit the same high notes as the first. Still fun, but I prefer the first to the second as well. Although I do like the mod I have that turns everyone into velociraptors with guns!

The only game I can remember regretting buying was Lego Lord of the Rings on 3DS. I'd never gotten one on 3DS before, and didn't realize they'd butcher the console versions down to make the game fit onto the handheld. The audio quality was awful (Bad enough I can't believe they were okay releasing the game at all), the levels were truncated and changed, the graphics weren't great... I traded it in an hour later for the PS3 version- and swore never to buy another Lego game for handheld again!

I gotta agree with that. a lot of people went just for what they expected the game to do instead of what would the game actually do. I don't regret buying the game in itself as much as spending as much as I did for it. I actually have been spamming my Miiverse wall with pictures from it. Maybe we could make a thread and talk about it and share codes or something.

I got it digital just like Animal Crossing. I think it is a good idea although it makes sense you bought it physical, unless you tried the demo first you might still been not sure you actually would like the game enough to keep around for years or not..

I don't know what to think about it everybody i8s raving about and pretty much have spoiled the biggest twists, so I am not sure I'll be able to appreciate it. I'd like to give it a go.

Oh no, I was quite certain I'd love it, lol! We just have a membership to Best Buy's Gamers Club thing, and get 20% off new games there. It's a good enough discount we usually only buy physical copies of games unless there's some other deal that's better, like a bundle or something. My Animal Crossing is physical too, blech! Really, the discount the only thing preventing me from buying all my games digitally anymore, if they were even a couple of dollars off on the eshop since they don't go through the extra production of a box and cartridge, I buy them from the eshop in a heartbeat... but they're always full price so I may as well sacrifice the convenience and save more money.... :/

I haven't been spoiled and I'm trying to not spoil myself. It's the going to be my first gaming priority after Dream Team, which I think I'm almost done with.

That's pretty good. I hope you manage stay that way.

Oh, I see. That makes a lot of sense. I can sympathise with that reasoning. In Australia retails prices are usually a bit higher than eShop, not by much, at worst they are the same price. It'd be nice digital copies were a bit cheaper because like you said, they do save money in what'd cost to ship a physical copy.

Other than Tomodachi, Smash and New leaf, I rather physical copies in what I can get. It is nice having your collection. I do buy from the virtual shop from time to time but even then I usually wait for some promotions as some of those old school NES and GBC titles are really expensive.

The only game I've ever regretted buying in my life is Beyond Two Souls. I hate that game with a passion. The gameplay isn't that great, the story isn't that great, and characters aren't that great. I was interested for the first twenty minutes. When I had to birth a child, that's when I drew the line. I finished out that particular route of the game and made it to the ending. I haven't touched it since. Beyond Two Souls is similar to Until Dawn except Until Dawn is actually good. The gameplay mechanics in BTS were overly complicated and the effort was not worth the reward.

0/10 - Never play this game.

I'm also in the camp of not being too into Destiny. I think I was looking for something a little closer to Borderlands in terms of gameplay and I definitely didn't get that.

I don't regret purchasing anything.

I usually try to get the best possible stuff and I do read reviews about before attempting to get something
