Think your seven-hour GTA V marathon session last night was a doozie? The residents of a house in Lakeland, Florida. would beg to differ.

As of Friday, the folks at StreamerHouse - which broadcasts on Twitch - have been playing games nonstop, every day, for 500 consecutive days. That's more than 12,000 hours of continuous button-mashing insanity.

Launched a little under a year and a half ago by Ryan "Tree" Carmichael and two friends/roommates, the money raised from commercials and viewer donations has been sufficient to pay the bills and become a full-time (albeit low paying) job for each.

The only downside? No vacation - even on holidays.

Each housemate “works” an eight-hour shift, playing a variety of games until passing off the controller. While today is certainly a milestone, the crew says they have no plans on slowing down. In fact, they plan on bringing a fourth person into the fold so they can expand the project (and get a little rest).

"It's difficult to find someone just willing to uproot their lives where they are at currently and come in here and say, ‘I want to play video games all day,’" Adam Young, one of the players, told Tampa Bay ABC News affiliate WFTS.

It's not a bad way to make a name for yourself in the gaming world. Since launching, StreamerHouse has been viewed by more than 36 million people. That works out to nearly 73,000 views per day.

As part of the celebration, the gang is giving away $2,000 - and has hinted it might offer a few other goodies as well. But the big focus will be on gaming, just as it always is, only maybe with one slight twist today.

"We may crack open a beer or something," said Carmichael.

Not, a bad idea really.

This looks like a good idea for making money by playing games, but it does not seem very healthy.

I wonder will any of these people who play games 8 hours a day have health problems like being over weight, eye strain, mental problems, etc.

One of the guy in the video looks very fat, and one of the other guy in the video seem too skinny, and pale.

These gamers also may need to go out more since they look pale in the video for people who live in Florida which has more sun than most places in the US.

There are now Game console based laptops, and Gaming PC laptops, so they could go out, and game on their free time.

But, they may not be able to afford some of the faster high spec. gaming laptops which cost many thousands of dollars since their job is low paying according to the article, so they may not even be making minimum wage on some days/hours when they have fewer donations, advertisers, and other forms of income which they get from their website.

I doubt they can, sounds like they bearly get by on what they make.
The minimum wage in Florida is $8.05, so it could be very difficult to make $8.05 an hour online where you are paid by donations and ad clicks, and only a small percentage of people make enough money online to live a good life where they have enough money to live on, and some money saved for school, medical and dental bills, house and car repairs, and unemployment savings.

I bet, $8.05 an hour in Florida is probably not enough to live on without help from the government, or relatives since Florida looks like a very expensive state to live in like California, Hawaii, and Texas because of the good weather, and land which attract a lot of rich people who are willing to pay a lot for houses, food, and other things which make things more expensive for the poor because stores raise the price of stuff because many rich people are willing to pay more for stuff.
