Games that actually killed Franchises

Aside from Mass Effect Andromeda and Medal of Honor Warfighter, what are other games that we know for a fact that they are known to be the ones that tanked a franchise or brand?

Im not talking about "Oh the franchise sucks ever since they released that game" im talking about "This franchise is DEAD since they released this title".

BUT! We are also not talking about simply "Oh this was the last one released" , we are talking about games that once released were known to deal a deathblow to their franchises.

I have to think about this, but off the top of my head the latest PS2 titles for both Spyro and Crash, it took remakes to bring life back into the series.
