The new Gamestick HDMI portable console for $79.99, and dock for $24.99 pre-order at http://gamestick.hostedbywebstore.com/

Pretty good price. I wonder if the controller can also be wirelessly connected to a Tablet, PC, Laptop, or any other device which can support wireless controllers.

The Dock looks useful for people who plan on having playing games which are bigger than 8GB in size, and to have extra USB ports, and a wired internet plug.

The case seems reasonably price since Nyko, MadCatz, and other cases for the DS, PSP, etc are usually 9.99 or more.

GameStick is the world's most portable TV games console.

In designing it, we have created a highly affordable, yet powerful device that brings a world of games directly to the big screen. GameStick plugs directly into a TV's HDMI slot and comes with a fully featured Bluetooth Game Pad - ready to go right out of the box. When on the move, the two combine into a single unit, putting a world of big screen gaming directly into the pocket.

GameStick Dock

The Dock is an optional, multi-function accessory for GameStick that allows you to wirelessly charge the GameStick controller, add additional storage (up to 64GB), connect peripherals and power the stick. Supporting 1 x Ethernet, 3 x external USB (one on the front and two at the rear) and HDMI, the connectivity hub provides support for a huge range of peripheral devices such as microphones, cameras and gesture recognition devices, dance mats, keyboards & mouse and of course internet connectivity via Ethernet. This is the perfect GameStick accessory for those with wall mounted TVs with hard to reach HDMI ports. Simply plug the stick into the dock and run an HDMI cable to the TV.

I'm not seeing any info on the CPU, chipset, Internal storage space or anything else that a 3rd party developer interested in supporting this project would be interested in knowing about.

What are the third-party options? is there a dev console to buy? Licensing?

Looks good so far. Most consoles starting out (*Cough*Apple Pippin*Cough*) tend to forget that the key to a console's success is its third-party support. If a console aint got that, it aint got nothin'

Maybe the success of future consoles would also be the openest and ability for any gamer to easily make and publish games on the official online game market and third party online market without needing to find a job at a big company like EA like the Web where anyone with the skills, and desire to learn to make HTML5 games can make HTML5 games like http://browserquest.mozilla.org/ or http://hexgl.bkcore.com/
without spending much or any money on making the game except for buying a computer, and books to learn how to make HTML5 games like HexGL.

I... I just can't get used to the Idea that there is an HTML out there that can handle OpenGL geometry and game code. That just freaks me out for some reason. Like I can't possibly see myself building a video game with n' $#!t for some reason. I'd be so terrified that my game would play like @$$ in one browser and well in another that I wouldn't even bother.

If there were a PHP that could handle game development, I would be horrified. one line of code in the wrong row could ERROR-404 my game faster than a BSOD on Windows 98.
