Gartner estimates worldwide PC shipments dropped 5.2 percent to 71.7 million units in the first quarter of 2015.

I think more people are now fixing, and upgrading their own desktop computers, and some laptops which let you install more RAM, and a faster video card, so there is less of a need to buy a new PC from a company like Dell, and HP because people are upgrading their own  PC to make them faster.

A lot of people also are building their own PC from parts like motherboards, CPUs, RAM,  hard drives, etc.

Since a lot of XPs are in use, the buying cycle could also increase suddenly.

I agree.

But, there are still a lot of people who use old expensive software like MS Office 2003, external hardware like robots, and USB devices like Printers, and Scanners which only have software hardware drivers which only work for XP because the software maker never made Windows 7 and 8 drivers for them.
