The Pokémon Presents wrapped up by giving us our first look at Gen 9, including starters Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. The new games will be open world and are due out on Nintendo Switch before the end of the year.

I'm shocked that they showed DLC for BDSP, something for Legends I didn't watch to avoid spoilers, and Gen 9. Honestly at first I thought they were all a little ugly besides grass Zorua. However, after a while they all grew on me. I'm scared they're gonna Incineroar poor Sprigatito. The more I saw art of Quaxly, the more I like him. As for Fuecoco, I thought it was the ugliest of them all. And you know what, I now love him. He is my favorite. What changed? No idea, but he's precious. Of course it all comes down to final evolution.

The game as a whole looks so pretty. Hopefully I can beat BDSP and Legends before this comes out, but with so many other games coming out we'll see, but I'm pretty excited.

I'm hoping for dual-core types so Grass Psychic, Fire Dark, and Water Fighting but what I really want is the Legends mechanics and stats in the mainline Gen 9. I enjoyed it way more than SwSh mainly because it feels way quicker and less tedious and there's a lot of self-growth whereas the mainline feels really formulaic and lacking especially if the stats are the same because everything takes twice as long to train for competitive and nothing else. We got an innocent cat, Pepper for my pizza, and Trump's starter. Very nice selection. I'm hopeful this new game won't copy SwSh but it very well could and I would be mildly upset.

It's going to be very interesting how the open world mechanic works! I wasn't a big fan of Sword and Shield really but I did like the Wild area so more of that and I'll be quite happy.

I can't believe they announced gen 9 games with them working on the Arceus game as well. Guess this looked half assed in areas.

It is a worry that they're constantly releasing new games, makes you wonder if we're getting the best experiences but we'll see how it works out.

I'm hoping they hired more workers because I know for a fact they have the money.
