Getting a Car

I'm looking at buying my first car in a few weeks and wonder if anyone here has good tips for going about getting one from a dealership.

Read car magazines, websites and join car forums since there are probably a lot of good reviews on which cars are the best for the price, or which cars are not as good because of constantly breaking.
