Final Fantasy XIII is as movie-like as games come, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to learn that Square Enix uses the same type of techniques movie producers use to make Hollywood magic. Today, the company provided a glimpse at one of those techniques.
Access the Japanese FFXIII official site, click on the button labeled "Report," and you'll be taken to a page providing a look at the game's Foley Sound Effects production process.
The first page shows a video of how they make the sound effects for a group of PSICOM soldiers walking. Each soldier walks differently, so they make multiple recordings of the sound effects and blend them together for the final cut.
The second page shows screens from other props used to create the various sound effects that you'll see in the game. Can you guess what sounds the props will correspond to?
