In years past, the Golden Joystick Awards typically deliver its final game of the year pick through its Ultimate Game of the Year category, but this year, two more categories were included: Ultimate Hardware of All Time and Ultimate Game of All Time. These categories were added as this year's awards show was also a celebration of "50 Years of Games," going back to 1971's Computer Space as the first retailed video game. Fans selected the PC as the Ultimate Hardware of All Time, with industry icon Gabe Newell of Valve accepting the award, and the Ultimate Game of All Time as FromSoftware's Dark Souls.

Meh Resident Evil Village.

Tales Of Arise should be best storytelling's winner

Resident Evil village game dominated the award gala. The devs of the game really packed so much of the awards in the recent joystick award night ceremony.

I hadn't been able to check out the results of the awards just yet, very interesting results.

Do you guys think that this might be a prelude to other Awards that are coming up or that results may vary a lot? Do you think games like Resident Evil will be this successful in other galas?

I wouldn't peg this as what will happen to other awards, each have their own voting and way to win like capcom did with this one.
