I heard Samsung makes good Blu-Ray players.
I mostly been using my desktop computer to play DVD movies, and it works pretty well most of the time.
If you have an extra PC or laptop which has 3GB of RAM, newer video card, and a faster CPU, you can install a Blu-Ray Disc drive, if you don't have one already installed on your PC, and use a Blu-Ray player software to play Blu-Rays.
Cyberlink WinDVD is a paid Blu-Ray playing software which cost $35 and up depending on the version.
But, you may need to install a video card with a HDMI port, or use a video converter box to convert a VGA video signal to HDMI video to connect the desktop PC to a TV if the TV does not have VGA or DVI video ports.
You can setup Windows to work with a remote, or just use a wireless keyboard and mouse for controlling it from farther away.
I think a PC would be the most reliable way to play Blu-Rays since if the Blu-Ray drive does not work, you can easily replace the drive with a better one. Plus, you can easily adjust the settings in Windows, and update the drivers or firmware for the video card, disc drive, and other parts to make it work well.
