Good idea to install an extra network card on an important server desktop PC?

Installing an extra network card could be important to use as a backup network card on a server or desktop PC. Sometimes, a network card software driver or other software problem can make your internet not work or a server, or desktop.

In rare cases, you may need to connect your computer to two wired networks at once where having two wired ethernet ports maybe needed.

If I remember servers class right, all important servers should have a back up in case of failure. If you don't, you're a fool who gambles or just an idiot.
