I bet, the low $200 or less price of Chromebooks make a lot of schools buy them because many public schools don't have a lot of money for more expensive computers, and the money needed to hire computer support staff needed to setup, maintain, and fix Windows, and Apple Mac based computers.
Its also surprising that schools bought less than 1 million Chromebooks, and iPads in 2014 since there are many million of students, and thousands of schools just in the US, and computers in schools break a lot because of vandalism, and accidents.
