Google has unveiled its new initiative Google Contributor, a program that will allow users to browse selected sites without advertising for a small monthly fee.

"Today’s Internet is mostly funded by advertising," says Google. "But what if there were a way to directly support the people who create the sites you visit each day?"

Google's experimental solution to this is to offer websites an alternate method of funding. Users can pay between $1 and $3 USD to "support" participating websites; in return, when visiting those websites, users will be shown pixellated patterns and thank-you messages in the areas where ads are normally displayed.

Google has announced a handful of partner websites to begin with: Mashable, The Onion, Science Daily, Imgur, WikiHow, and Urban Dictionary. If you're interested in trying out this program, you can sign up to the Contributor waiting list.

Don't want to see ads for free? Get adblock and flash blocker for your favorite browser and just whitelist somethings you need to view. Never see an ad again.

I think there are already mods for forums and blogs which hide ads for members who donated money, or paid for a paid membership account to get more features  than free accounts like no ads, paid articles, HD videos, more PM inbox space, and more online file storage space for attachments on PMs, posts, and their profile.

Creating your own paid ad-free membership program for a website like The Wall Street Journal, IGN Insider, Crunchy Rolls Ad-free account, and other websites with a paid version is better since you get to keep all of the money instead of sharing some of the earnings with Google.

You can also make a website totally ad-free like Wikipedia which earns money dy donations to keep its site ad-free.
