Google is at it again. Not content to let any company anywhere do anything better than them (they got beat up a lot of high school), they are going after Wikipedia.
Google will launch a new service called "knol", which will integrate user-created articles with Google's search engine.
In addition to that, it will allow article creators to attach advertising to their work and get part of the revenue. It also appears that it will not allow random editing of articles (sorry, Colbert Nation).
knol is currently in a priviate, invite-only beta test, but should open to the public in a few months.
