Google unveiled its Chrome Apps initiative recently to launch apps that exist outside of the browser and extend its reach into more of a platform, but it looks like the company has a whole lot more planned. Over the past few weeks, Google has been updating its developer version of the Chrome browser to run what's essentially Chrome OS within Windows 8's "Metro" mode.

Chrome OS in Windows 8 Metro mode looks pretty good, and easier to use for people who did not learn how to use Windows 8 on a non-touchscreen PC. I bet Google making a Chrome OS Skin program for Windows 8 may make more people upgrade to Windows 8 to use this because Chrome OS is one of the fastest growing operating systems.
I wonder would Firefox also make a Firefox OS and other OS for Windows 8 PC when in Metro Mode.
