It's a shame some of us European folk can't get involved in this. Anyone have an easy to understand reason on what the lawsuit was about?

How do they send the money? Just wondering.

Paypal, pre-paid gift card and vemo I think.

This is what I found:

"storing and intentionally, systematically and repeatedly divulging” users’ search queries and histories to third-party websites and companies."

so in short, gathering and selling data.

$7 doesn't seem like a lot but there has to be millions of people who were affected. They had to divide it equally. I don't know if it's shady or if they are trying to "buy off" the fact they were buying & selling data from users.

It's the best a class action lawsuit can do.

You can never trust any of these companies. They are all doing the same thing with stealing our data and selling it without our consent. Facebook did it, most VPN do it. I've known Google was capable of doing the same thing.

Gimme my money, Google.

Big Companies monitor & track our activity. People underestimate how much.
How does VPN do it? I thought that was supposed to be protecting us. Many people tried to convince me to use a VPN for better security but I never had much luck with it.

There are many untrustworthy VPN service providers. Those companies make money by selling your data because they have access to it. This is why before I sign up for using any VPN service providers, I will double-check how the company treats their users information.

That's interesting! I had never heard of that before. Where do you double-check that information?
What VPN do you like to use?

FYI, the misnomer about VPN’s is that people treat it like a magical shield for your privacy. You have to put more effort than just using a VPN.

Essentially if you’re on Google Chrome, logged into your personal Gmail, and Google searching, the VPN is doing nothing.

Tbh, a lot of people are wasting money using VPN services based on their own practices.
