Glad to see Google finally coming out with gift cards since now kids, and people without credit cards can buy apps, in-app purchases movies, music and ebooks on Google Play easily.
I think now that there are Gift cards for Google Play, people will buy more paid apps, in-app purchases movies, music and ebooks at Google Play Market.
It would be cool if Google came out with a 200-250 dollar giftcard, so people can buy a Google Nexus 7 Tablet at https://play.google....corpus_selector .
Why not just get a Visa gift card instead, this way you can use it anywhere you wish outside of the Google Play store. It might be beneficial to you to so since you might find a better deal elsewhere than you would in the Google Play store.
You could then, get your device discounted, and have enough money left over to buy accessories and still have enough left over for apps and movies.
A lot of Prepaid Credit Cards have an expiry date, and after the expiry date they charge you a monthly fee, and a loading cost of $5 or more in Canada.
I think Giftcards are also slightly easier to use since you don't need to activate it, fill in an online form for the address at the credit card giftcard website for registration.
All you need to do is tap in a giftcard number into the store website, and you are done.
Since it is a giftcard for mobile app store for Google Android, I might even be able to activate my giftcard by scanning a QR code, or Barcode on the back of the card with a webcam, or smartphone camera.
Most Giftcard balances also don't expire like Amazon Giftcard balances don't get deducted like prepaid credit cards which could have monthly fees after the expiry date in Canada.
