Ireland, Canada, Australia and others join the likes of the UK and U.S. as the Chromebook goes on sale in a host of new countries.

In Ireland, pricing for the lower-end Chromebooks will start at €279 and the notebooks will be available through PCWorld and Amazon UK. In Canada, you will soon be able to snap one up at your nearest Best Buy or Futureshop (or you can buy online starting today). Australians can head to JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman while those in France, Germany and the Netherlands can get their Chromebooks atAmazon and Pixmania (France), Notebooksbilliger, Amazon, Cyberport and Saturn (Germany), or mediamarkt.nl, saturn.nl en laptopshop.nl (Netherlands).

I bet the Chromebook will be as popular as Google Android which is installed on a lot of Smartphones if it is cheaply price where people in Mexico, China, India, and Africa can more easily afford a Chromebook than a Windows based computers which costs hundreds more. People can also use the Chromebook to install Ubuntu Linux or Linux Mint on it for free if they don't like Chrome OS.

I think the Chromebook would be a good everyday laptop/netbook for people who mainly use their PC for web browsing, watching online video, e-mail, word processing, presentations, social networking, forums, casual gaming, and many other daily tasks, but don't like the slower speeds of more expensive Windows based netbooks which are slow because they use slow mobile CPU like the Intel Atom which is not a good CPU to run Windows.

I want to get the 249.00 US Dollar Samsung Chromebook with a 16GB SSD for when I just need to go online for e-mail, YouTube, forums, blogging, and video chat.

For $249.99 dollars, the Samsung Chromebook looks okay. I think it looks better than most Windows Netbooks made by Acer, Asus, and other brands.

Nicer materials like a metal case, more shinny screen, and glass touchpad will make the Samsung Chromebook more expensive.
