The government may soon ban PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) in India. Reports suggesting a ban on 275 apps have started to surface online a month after the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps, including popular ones like TikTok, UC Browser, citing data security concerns.
The government on Monday banned 47 more Chinese apps that were clones of the earlier banned apps. Some of these include TikTok Lite, Helo Lite, ShareIt Lite, Bigo Lite and VFY Lite, all of which are reportedly unavailable on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. While PUBG is not a part of the list, it is said to be under the scanner.
PUBG is one of the most popular smartphone mobile games in India and many other countries. In India alone, the app boasts of over 175 million downloads.
PUBG has been developed by a South Korean video game company called Bluehole. However, Chinese multinational conglomerate Tencent holds a considerable amount of share in the popular game. The government is considering a ban on the battle royale format game over data security concerns. Several apps have been on the radar lately owing to alleged data-sharing practices with the Chinese government.

MAybe get fewer hackers now :p But that isn't new, they been looking at banning it for some time now.

It is unfortunate Pubg maybe banned since some gamers spent a lot of time playing the game, so they will have a lot of emotional attachment to the game.

Could be done a way back then right when people here messing up with PUBG but i still don't know that they will do so it's in consideration

Crazy to think that they went through with it. I do wonder what the PlayStation Plus lineup for September will be since they are giving out PUBG for free.

Whoops, didn't think about that. I guess it's not as huge a problem then if you have a decent PC or a console since you can play PUBG that way. It's a huge problem for those that only game on their phone though :(

Agreed but most of the users were here are play on the go kek so they feel bad but the best thing is I'm not into PUBG mobile but I feel sad for my friends they even bought royal pass and all.

I wonder if they will manage to get refunds for those purchases. Knowing the customer support of some of these big games, I very much doubt that users will get refunds which is not good :(.

No refunds as of now my friends even contacted support for this but no one replies.
