He is now being charged for a felony, because a security guard saw the whole thing. He would have gotten away with it too, if he had paid for it all.

Doesn't Walmart have security cameras that constantly monitor the aisles to catch the shoplifters?

cameras aside, there is a thing by the doors that would detect any unbought items.

I've heard of women trying to shoplift by hiding products under their skirts here in Europe... Last year, a woman tried to steal a tv in this way:
