Other GTA 5 and WoW Biggest Industry Money Makers

It is being gathered and reported by industry analyst that GTA 5 has sold over 90 million units which comes out to be about $6 billion in revenue. While Blizzard's has estimated to bring in close to 10 billion dollars in revenue.

Both games have made far more than blockbuster movies like Star Wars, and Gone With The Wind, which both brought in around $3 billion in theaters when adjusted for inflation which is pretty impressive.

These are current day stats as in the old days, Space Invaders led the industry with 13 billion dollars, Pac-Man with 12 billion and Street Fighter 2 with 10 billion.

Given the statics, you can expect more online focused games to hit the future gaming world.

A movie doesn't make a whole lot more after its done airing, unlike games that make monthly profit.

I think movies can still make some money from On Demand rentals from Cable TV, and streaming on Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and purchases from DVD/Blu-Ray and digital downloads.

But, I think more people keep playing MMORPG games like WoW because it is one of the better ways to talk to people online while having fun, and there is a lot of things to do on a every month because games like WoW may have special events, contests, and DLC release for it.

I think most dedicated fans of Star Wars will continue to watch Star Wars at movie creatures, and Blu-Ray. But, less popular films may not survive if there are a lot of people pirating their film.

Star Wars still make lots of money from toys, video games, and other products. I think Star Wars toys and games won't sell as well without the movies being release every few years.
