Developer Rockstar Games has announced a number of new multiplayer gameplay modes for Grand Theft Auto Online launching with their open-world game's Heists update next week.

Adversary Modes, a novel form of competitive multiplayer for GTA, will give players the chance to take on rival teams in three different game modes. Pitting two teams against each other, these modes range from hunting other players to defending locations and running over cyclists with trucks. Visit Rockstar's blog to learn the dirty details.

Another new feature called Daily Objectives will give the player three challenges to complete each day for in-game currency which, if players choose to stack up over a few days, can yield great rewards.

Free Mode is also getting a boost, with new activities driven by a group of new NPCs. Also, there are plenty of small tweaks like a new in-game Email notification system that allows players to reach out to any of their friends, regardless of what session they're in.

As previously revealed, Heists will offer the long-awaited four-player co-op modes and is rumored to be adding some new weapons and vehicles.

The Heists update will arrive on consoles March 10 and as day-one content for the PC version when it releases April 14.
