Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition launched digitally for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC back in November. However, Rockstar Games said the physical release would be coming slightly later. In the case of Nintendo Switch, it turns out that the release date for the physical version of GTA Trilogy is February 11, 2022. However, as we’ve reported in the past, the physical release will still require a digital download of some sort, meaning that not all three games are contained on the cartridge.

Despite a release date being set, it appears that Rockstar still has not clarified what is actually contained in the physical release of GTA Trilogy on Switch. It could be that the cartridge only contains Grand Theft Auto III or, at best, Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is definitely the heftiest download out of the three games. In any case, the Nintendo Switch eShop lists the download of the entire game at 25.4 GB. The digital download required with a physical cartridge should, in theory, be smaller than that, but you should still plan accordingly.

Will you guys be picking this one up? I'd be curious to hear what other fans think about the release.

Might try it but definitely glad that it's a physical release. If it has a huge update though I would really be upset and just have it sit in my collection. As of right now, I might wait on it since I didn't grow up with the games and never played into the series. Maybe it didn't hold up as well as it did a while ago.

I like that it is a physical release since downloading a lot of digital Grand Theft Auto games on my internet connection would take a very long time.

I probably won't get Grand Theft Auto Trilogy because I was never into GTA.

Don't have a Switch so no but in general, I wouldn't be getting the trilogy at the moment. The price is just a bit too expensive considering they didn't do much with the remaster. I'll definitely get it when it drops in price though since Vice City and GTA 3 is not available on the Game Pass.

Since the initial release failed, I just lost my interest with the game 'GTA trilogy. It just a waste of resources which took me time to save.
