Audio production company, Pyramid Studios was hand-picked by Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries to produce the soundtrack to the upcoming Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

Pyramid was tasked with re-orchestrating and reproducing the original score, by composers Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori. The duo of, Microsoft Studios Senior Audio Director, Kristofor Mellroth and, Pyramid Studios COO and Audio Director, Paul Lipson recorded the updated score at the famed Skywalker Ranch with talent including the Skywalker Symphony Orchestra, guitar from Bryan Dale, and, Grammy-winning vocal ensemble, Chanticleer for the Halo Monks choral melodies.

"It was a huge undertaking to transcribe, orchestrate, and produce every note from the original game soundtrack files" said Lipson, "Our team approached every aspect of the music with an immense amount of skill and care, keeping the core Halo sound while updating the production to today's highest standards."

Microsoft Studios Senior Audio Director Kristofor Mellroth added, "This wasn't just a simple remaster, it was a completely new orchestration and recording using renowned talent and top live players. We are striving to create the ultimate love letter to Halo fans, and celebrate Marty O'Donnell's and Michael Salvatori's original vision with grace and style".

Gamers can find out themselves how it all turned out when the game releases, November 15, 2011.
