To enable Handwrite, visit www.google.com on your smartphone or tablet, click 'Settings,' found at the bottom of the page, and then enable Handwrite. This feature is currently available in 27 languages.

This feature also looks good for people who have a broken keyboard, but need to search google by handwriting with their mouse. The people in this video have decent hand writing when writing on a touch screen.

I tried it out, and it works okay even with my messier handwriting. Although, the handwriting search confuses i and L, and some times M becomes two n like n n.

But, I agree voice search would be faster if you have a clear enough voice for it.

I'm not sure if it works for the 3DS since I think you need a newer web browser like the Apple iOS safari web browser, Google Android Web Browser, Dolphin Web Browser, etc.
