Ubisoft has announced the new Hasbro Game Channel, which will bring classic board games to consoles.

The channel will be available for download this fall on Xbox One and PS4 with the first three games: Monopoly Plus, Risk, and Trivial Pursuit Live!. The titles are based on Hasbro classic games with updates for digital audiences.

"The new console experience will offer a brand new channel with both familiar and new gameplay modes, various missions, and achievement and rewards," according to Ubisoft.

Monopoly Plus allows for up to 6 players, playing either online or offline, to create customized House Rules. It includes the traditional 2D board and a new "colorful and lively" 3D board that evolves with gameplay.

Risk will feature an online league play, modern armies, and 3D battlefields. The 2010 rules are the standard set, but players can choose rule modifiers and configurable win variants.
Trivial Pursuit Live! is a new take on the classic game, utilizing a TV-show setting and new question formats.

Xbox 360 and PS3 users will be able to play these games, but will need to download them individually. As of now, there is no word on Ubisoft's pricing structure.

Risk sounds like a fun game.

It is a shame that Harbro Game Channel is not available for Wii U because the Wii U has a lot of gamers, and a lot of kids may more likely own a Wii U because it is more affordable, and has more games like Mario Kart, Mario, Smash Bros, etc which are games which kids can play.
