I've seen quite a few of them available in CD format, but I do have to be honest here:

I've never really actually bought one. Okay, I got a few discs free with magazines and what not, but the rest? Usually a mix of the internet and the in game sound test is good enough to go without needing a CD version.

But have you ever bought a video game soundtrack CD?

We've bought a few, at least in the sense they came bundled with a collectors edition or something like that. I did import the Star Fox 64 soundtrack from Japan a long, long while ago. But for the most part my massive collection is downloaded, not for the fact that I don't WANT to give the companies my money, but because the soundtracks are either unavailable except for game rips, or marked up a ridiculous amount instead of being the cost of a regular CD set. Just because it's a niche music market, doesn't mean you get to fleece your customers.

Plus, I prefer game rips if I can get good audio on them, because too frequently my favorite tracks aren't available on the official albums, are edited, or missing things. Like the Super Mario 3D World, the music for Beep Block Skyway doesn't include the beeps heard in game, which is what MAKES the whole song.

My favorite track from World of Warcraft only plays in a few small areas, specifically a cave near the Undead starting zone and I think in some small zones in dungeons; it's unavailable on the soundtracks, and the only place I've ever found it is when we downloaded an audio rip of everything from the game. It's a shame, it's a great clip of music, even if it is a fairly short loop.

I've never bought one with physical money, but I did get the Super Smash Bros. Melee soundtrack from Nintendo Power and I got the Smash 4 CD's so that's something.

Well, that's interesting. How do you find soundtracks for more obscure games? Do you go without in that case?
The Tokyo Kid in Harvard Square Harvard, MA has obscure ones, but they'll cost about 120.00 or more. Most of mine are gotten via pre-order or gifts from those who had em. Donkey Kong Country's cassette was a gift from a friend who used his Club Nintendo points to order it back when you had to clip corners of the instruction manuals and turn them in via envelope.

I've bought a digital video game sound track for Binding of Isaac mainly because I really loved the music that came with the game. I've also got a few other game sound tracks, but they came with the games upon being purchased.

Never. I never saw the point of getting it.

We get bored of them pretty easily....so....well, I get bored of them.

No, I can't find any video game soundtracks at local music stores, and I am not as interested in buying music at an online store.

I have bought some. They came bundled with the game in Humble Bundle when there was a special offer which was worth it.
