A PC monitor is already HD I believe even if you use the standard VGA, or DVI-i Digital connection.

VGA and DVI-I can already carry an HD signal from your computer to the monitor. VGA nad DVI-I standard computer video cables were the original HD cable before HDMI ever existed. Although, you need to buy a monitor which has a resolution of 1280x720 pixels or higher to be considered HD.
