Healthcare employees in Florida choose Google Chromebooks over Windows, iPad

Two-thirds of the employees at Chapters Health System opted to pick an HP Chromebook 14 over a Windows laptop or iPad, which has made the IT department happy. There are cheaper Windows laptops coming to compete but they don’t address reasons people pick a Chromebook.

Given a choice between a Chromebook, a Windows laptop and an iPad, which device would your business choose? There’s no “right” answer, but for Florida-based Chapters Health System, it’s a Chromebook. Actually, it’s a bunch of Chromebooks as the company has deployed Chrome OS laptops and plans to add even more in the future.

I guest people did not want to use Windows 8, or an iPad because the user interfaces are not very good without a touchscreen, and both require touchscreens. I bet the touch screens on computers get pretty dirty for healthcare workers which sometimes do a lot of dirty work.
 
I imagine apple and MS aren't happy.
