I can't help but notice that MS is really shoving out a lot of money of late, too much if you ask me. They paid for elusive rights for titan fall, the next tomb raider, the constant DLC first thing, and now they are looking at acquiring minecraft.


I can't help but feel that a bad loss would bold badly for the possible money strap company.

I think Microsoft makes a lot of money from MS Office, online storage/One drive, Windows, and many other software and paid services which make make them billions of dollars every year.

MS made $4.97 billion in earnings the 3rd quarter of 2013, so I don't think they are having money problems.

Microsoft just reported its Q4 2013 earnings, and the Redmond behemoth has found itself with $19.90 billion in revenue, $6.07 billion in operating income, and $4.97 billion in net income.

I reckon if they did acquire Minecraft, that'd be a shame for Mojang as they are on so many platforms now, including mobile phones and tablets.  Why they'd want to be exclusive to one platform is beyond me.  

2 billion dollars is a lot of money though.

I think there would be a chance that Minecraft will not be an exclusive because Microsoft now publishes a lot of their popular software like Skype, Xbox mobile App, and MS Office to other platforms like Google Android, Mac, and Apple iOS as well as their Windows OS.

Well they just threw down 2.5 billon for this, they are very serious about it.
