How do you find people to play online with?

How do you find people to play online with? Do you leave your PS and Xbox Live ID on many forums? Do you use social networks to find groups of players? What are your methods for finding online gamers?

I don't do any of those. I mostly play with friends I know in real life and then have added a few who I don't but met over Xbox live and started playing with them regularly.

I put my name up on social media, but honestly I'd rather just play by myself in most cases.

I mostly use the in game match making, I don't care for just handing things out on different sites. Never know who might end up with it.

I met a guy online forum six years ago which we played mostly LCPDFR. We are still online mates even though we haven't played in years. We talk though texting and email. He's a police officer for Pomona Police department

I tend to play with people I know in real life. However I sometimes meet people in online games and we get talking and play games together - this happened when GTA Heists came out.
