How do you play fighting games?

When playing fighting games, do you memorize all the combinations for the complex sequences, or are you more of a button smasher (you know, hitting random buttons in the hope of making lucky hits)?

I'm pretty good with remember sub zero's moves in MK...

Anything else it's button mashing.

Button bashing for me also. But I don't really play many fighting games. Just games that incorporate it like GTA 5 but don't focus on it.

i prefere fighting games on kinect controler. I can work out on my condition and play games same time!
